The brain uses about one-fifth of our energy. That’s why it’s important to maintain a balanced diet. Foods that help sustain or even boost brain performance are referred to as brainfood. California walnuts, rich in plant alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), can have positive effects on brain health and can therefore be considered true brainfood.
To highlight these positive effects, the California Walnut Commission and Kluth, one of Germany’s leading manufacturers of nuts and dried fruits, have launched a large-scaled in-store promotion. The promotion runs from October to mid-January and uses shelf wobblers and freestanding product displays to draw consumers’ attention at the point of sale (POS). Additionally, leaflets with further information on California walnuts are attached to Kluth's 100g and 200g walnut bags.
Consumers benefit not only from the newfound knowledge but also from the opportunity to win one of five SMEG refrigerators. A dedicated landing page has been created for the raffle, providing information about the benefits of California walnuts as brainfood, proper storage, and details about the contest itself. The link to the landing page can be found on the leaflet attached to Kluth's packaging, creating a direct connection between the POS promotion and participation in the sweepstakes. The promotion runs until January 12, 2025 – so be sure to grab the promotional package and join in!
